About

NJU-China is the Nanjing University iGEM team. iGEM, short for International Genetically Engineered Machine, is a global synthetic-biology competition and community centered on student teams designing, modeling, documenting, and communicating engineered biological systems. Its project culture is notably interdisciplinary: a competitive entry is not only a wet-lab biological design, but also a combination of modeling, safety thinking, human practices, documentation, software, visualization, and public-facing explanation.

I list NJU-China here because it represents a different kind of technical environment from my usual AI and mathematics work. The team context requires collaboration across biology, engineering, computation, design, writing, and presentation. For someone with a background in AI systems and mathematical tooling, the relevant contribution space is naturally connected to modeling support, knowledge organization, automation, documentation infrastructure, visualization, and the translation of technical ideas into readable public materials.

This entry is written conservatively as a team-membership record. It does not claim a specific competition result or a fixed module ownership unless that is documented elsewhere. Its importance on this site is that it marks a move into interdisciplinary scientific engineering: using computational habits to support a synthetic-biology team, while learning how biological design, responsible engineering, and public communication fit together in a real competition workflow.
